Small business grants are more attainable than you might think. In fact, your own home state may be willing to provide you with the small business grant you need to start or grow your business.

While there are currently no direct small business grants offered by the federal government, many state development agencies do proffer direct small business grants and other kinds of financial assistance designed to support and help small business owners in starting or developing a small business.

Some states offer small business grants in order to develop their individual economies. Other financial incentives could include:

• subsidized rates on SBA loans,
• tax breaks and
• participation in business “incubator” programs
